Deer Park Country House
Late spring
Lucy came to me with a strong sense of colour and design and we collaborated on ideas throughout the process.
Deer Park Country House provided a stately backdrop for the outdoor ceremony held around the fountain on the lawns. The surprising heat of early May added to the saturated tones of the flowers, some of which floated in the ripples of the fountain’s pool.
So many of the best, most decadent blooms in a variety of colours still available as spring moves towards summer.
Flowers were sourced from my wholesaler and driven down to Devon, allowing the Peonies time to open fully for the big day. Many of the other pivotal blooms, such as the Lupin, Iris, Lilac and Foxglove were cut from the wonderful gardens of Sandford Blooms, Devon.
Liaising with multiple suppliers, alongside foraging and sourcing from wholesalers provides me with such a varied and ever-changing, versatile palette of varieties that designing is always a joy.
Modern, quirky shapes kept the blousy, romantic blooms in place, bringing the final designs in harmony with the aesthetics of the day; modern meets old school in combination with classic proportions.
